Subject: Volume License key for IWork08
I have starting using open directory and have a few issues.
We use IWork 08 under a Volume Licensing Key.
If you start the software from the local machine and put in the VLK,
all local account can use it fine, with no need to reinstall the VLK
for each new local user. But network accounts need to have the VLK
installed onto each account.
Is there any way to make it so it works like the local
machine scheme?
I don't want to have to install the key into 1000 accounts. or Giving
a copy of the Key to 1000 users, that must be against the end user
license.
How do you generally deal with Open Directory and VLK's for software?
Regards,
Jason Jenkins.

Hi Jason,
I don't usually have an issue with this at all. If it is registered on the local machine image then it will work for all users. Try registering the software using the local admin account.
The other way it can be pushed out if you have Apple Remote Desktop, is to locate the com.apple.iWork08.plist file and edit the key there, then copy this file to the global Library Preferences:
/Library/Preferences/
Good
luck,.
Cheers,
