Yes, the documentation does not match the implementation.

From my testing, even if you add the keys that Axel mentioned to the sharepoint conf files, it still does not respect them.

Use ACLs.  or downgrade to 10.4.11.

We pushed the implementation of 10.5.4 up a month as the keychain was corrupted on the 10.4.11 we had running. (SBOD any time you touched the keychain and odd happenings other wise.) And our permissions setup is fairly simple. So the switch to ACLs was easy ONCE we figured out the documentation on permissions was wrong.

While I don't want to go back to the days of assembling manuals the old IBM way I sure wish Apple would put out an errata KB note that gets regularly updated for each document with non trivial errors.
