Jamie:
I am not sure people have or have not contacted Apple - from a consumer
side.
I do know that Dan worked with multiple vendors and they agreed and took
the time to make a patch and get it pushed on the same exact day.
Why should a customer have to convince a vendor to patch their product for
security holes?
While you may not feel it is a big issue and this one may not be I do
think that Apple should have:
A) Made their customers aware of the problem and offered a patch or a
work around. I think this because there are likely to be several xserv
installations in small to medium size business where the owner is not a
technical person and he/she is depending on Apple to keep them safe.
In this case I would at least have to give the other Vendors the nod over
Apple because they DID do something for their customers.

My biggest point would be: Has anyone contacted Apple and said "Hey,
you're screwing up by not posting a Security Update". Like, you know,
the power of the consumer.
