L Root Server - was Re: Response -> Problem ID: 6103391 Mac OS X Server Security Updates Lacking in Timeliness

"Minor" detail, but it would be nice if Apple were to at the same time they are rolling out this patch to also update the root hint zone file to show the new ip for the L root server:


Old: 198.32.64.12
New: 199.7.83.42


It's only been known about for 9-10 months ( November 1st 2007)

I just rebuilt a new Xserve last week with Leopard and was configuring DNS for localhost resolution only and found hints warnings in the named.log


Update your /var/named/named.ca and then HUP named
