Specifically -- what would be the needed steps for having only one runtime, acceptable for all the parties -- note that it would also be of interest (imho) for Apple to have ObjC be considered a more portable/not tied to one platform language...
I've given this a lot of thought over the years. Every OO implementation has it's own "runtime". There's never going to be a single runtime acceptable to all parties.
What is possible is a "universal bridge", but that would take some heavy computer science and lots of patience and I'm not sure Apple is convinced it's their responsibility. File a bug?
