Internet Config Browser Selection?

I hope it's not rude to post an Internet Config question in an OT forum....

According to the book "Learning Carbon", Internet Config makes available the
user's choice of Browser, as set in the Internet Control Panel. However, in
searching IC's API, I could not determine how to get this information.

(FYI, The reason I want it is because my application's installer launches a
little program I wrote which needs to install a plug-in in the user's
browser's "Plug-ins" folder, and if the browser is Netscape, it will also
issue a javascript command via an applevent to refresh the browser
plug-ins).
