You can have Shark profile a single process - that's one of the
options in the main UI bar.
Yes, but then the process must be already running so you cannot get
the
run from beginning to end. (But I've played with it some and can get
what I want running it in everything mode.)
In the main Shark window if you select <Time Profile> <Process> you
can then select the "Launch..." menu item (it is the first item in
the menu). This lets you launch any executable, including command-
line applications, and it will only profile that application from
start to finish.
Shark is by far the best and easiest profiler I've ever used. It has
a lot of very advanced features that can take some time to learn and
are extremely useful. For the beginner though it couldn't be easier
to do a time profile. And for the advanced user it offers a lot of
great features and control. If you take some time to learn how to
use it it will become an indispensable tool.
