Seek suggestions for a Richardson-Lucy Kernel

I'm planning to use the vImage vImageRichardsonLucyDeConvolve_PlanarF() function on an image to attempt to "sharpen" some images that were scanned, and show slight blurring (I assume this to be focus or lens distortion).

The images are reasonably uniform B&W. As a reference, a pinhole in the image is smeared from one to two pixels around the center (and is generally symmetric around the center).

Suggestions on kernels for this would be most welcome - this is my first foray into deconvolution and I'm not sure where to begin.

PS: is there an existing Application, CIFilter, or command line program on Leopard that would let me experiment with Richardson-Lucy?
