Thread-topic: Veclib under rosetta with CFM apps on Intel Mac, OS 10.4.11, problem?
User-agent: Microsoft-Entourage/11.3.6.070618
Hello all
I¹m having a problem running CFM code fragments (plugins that run within
After Effects, Final Cut Pro, etc.) that try to access the veclib
acceleration library. I get an error message that the veclib code fragment
cannot be found. This problem is happening with CFM PPC code (compiled with
Metrowerks, naturally), running under Rosetta on an Intel Mac. I¹m away
from my PPC machine for another week, so I don¹t know if this problem occurs
on PPC Macs running OS 10.4.11.
Is this a known problem? A similar problem happened previously with Mac OS
10.4.6, but affected PPC Macs too (it turned out the veclib.framework was
moved to the Accelerate framework subdirectories, with no direct access
within the /System/Llibrary/Framework directory directly, and the workaround
was to install the 10.4.6 combined update over the incremental update). I¹m
at a lost as to how to give my customers a workaround. They¹ve already
installed the combined OS update to 10.4.11 and that didn¹t work. Help?
When I run
> lipo -info /System/Library/Frameworks/vecLib.framework/Versions/A/vecLib
I get:
i386 ppc ppc64 x86_64
Is the fact that ppc is not listed first a clue to the problem? Just
curious.
