Re: "expected controller service principal" error?

Hi Justin,

To start off, try checking the Kerberos keytab on your failing agent machine to see what principals are listed for Xgrid. To do this, type the following in Terminal.

sudo klist -k

There should be some principals along the lines of xgrid/email@hiddenN .

Anyone have any suggestions on this? We're going to be working with our Apple SE tomorrow on this, but he too hasn't had much luck finding an answer for this problem either. We purchase a new strongly configured XServe for this Podcast Producer project and we really don't want to trash the project all together - we really do want it to work!

Thanks for any suggestions or tips on possible ideas of what to check or look further into, even if it's not the fix, any suggestions at this point are very much appreciated!

Hello all -

We're very new to Podcast Producer, but we've not had luck finding an answer to this problem... We've followed the steps verbatim from Apple's Podcaster PDF, twice, with the same results.

After doing a complete erase and clean install, confirming that the hostname and DNS are working fine, we're still having the same problem with the XGrid service reporting that Kerberos isn't working.

Here's the relevant error code info that might be useful:

----------

Jan 17 15:20:14 podcaster xgridcontrollerd[48]: Notice: controller connection closed (sid = 0x22d080)
Jan 17 15:20:14 podcaster com.apple.launchd[1] (com.apple.xgridagentd[3995]): Exited with exit code: 1
Jan 17 15:20:14 podcaster com.apple.launchd[1] (com.apple.xgridagentd): Throttling respawn: Will start in 10 seconds
Jan 17 15:20:14 podcaster xgridagentd[3995]: Error: agent could not determine the expected controller service principal
Jan 17 15:20:14 podcaster xgridagentd[3995]: Notice: agent failed

----------

Anyone have any ideas on what to try next?

Thanks!
