Ok that can be used.

Yes I run it as sudo

Problem:
I tried starting/stopping the Printing Services but this has no effect on
the printers you can choose in Print Center.

What I found out:
You just need to restart Print Center to make sure that only "existing" PPDs
are shown in the Print Center.

questions:
- How could I assure that in the install/uninstall process the Print Center
is restarted.
- Can anyone clarify what needs to be done in the system to make sure that
the following added items are recognized: Cups Filter, PPD, PDEs
- do I need to restart CUPS to let it "see" the added Cups filter?
- do I need to restart the Printing Services to make use of the added items?
- do I need to restart the Print Center to make use of the added items?

Thanks for your help Michael
