Re: Anomalous behaviour of 'GetSheetWindowParent'

To follow up on Kevin's comments, the issue pertained to Cocoa apps and it has been addressed in Panther. Meaning, with Cocoa apps, the job name is set before the Print dialog is displayed, thereby making it available to PDEs.

This is a known issue -- we had the same problem. Carbon apps can get the parent window, but cocoa apps can't. Or was it the reverse? I forget. Apple knows about the problem, but no info regarding a fix.

Subject: Anomalous behaviour of 'GetSheetWindowParent'

'AppUsingSheets' is an example of an application supporting
document-model (sheet) printing dialog. So I'd expect
'GetSheetWindowParent' to return the document window's WindowRef when
presented with 'GetControlOwner(userPane)' [which I would expect to
be the sheet's WindowRef].

Guess what? It returns 'noErr' as a function result, but NULL as a
'WindowRef'! Any explanation, or am I misunderstanding something?

Michael
