CUPS not finishing jobs properly

Hi, I have been having a problem with CUPS in Jag for some time. I am set up to print to a print server using IP printing at 192.168.0.1 with a print queue of L1 as suggested by the Print server.

When I send a job, it spools to the print server and prints, but if I send a second job within about 5 minutes, it seems to almost stall. The control files are sent really slowly and then more than half the time, the job stops.

It is quite reproducible. I have a LaserJet 5MP coonected via its parallel port to a FM114P router.
