Printing Services name changed between JagWire and Panther

In JagWire, the service name (the "Provides" setting) for printing services is "Printing", although Apple documentation says "PrintingServices". So naturally other services which depend on printing services would have to use "Printing" in "Requires", to be successful.

But in Panther it's been changed (fixed?) to "PrintingServices". So services dependent on "Printing" don't get started. I assumed the documentation was wrong, not the software. Silly me.

I've temporarily removed the "Requires" and set "Uses" to both "Printing" and "PrintingServices". But it's not the "right" solution, really.

Apple, why do you do this to us? And where did you tell us? And what's the correct approach for compatibility with both JagWire and Panther?

Michael
