Object detection/modification?

I was wondering if Panther added any new capabilities for Tioga or CUPS raster drivers to detect and do meaningful things with different kinds of objects (i.e. text, vector graphics, bitmaps). For example, I'd like to be able to perform different color matching on bitmaps vs. vector graphics.
