Setting state of the printer...

Hi List,

I am facing one problem. I am querying the printer for some
information which is sent to it in the form of the postscript using the CUPS
backend (pap) (on Mac OS X Jaguar).I can read the results
returned by the query successfully but it leaves the printer in busy state
for some time though there is no other job on the printer.
I want to know is there any way to relinquish printer of
this and how can we do that or we have to live with this only ?
Time to get the results is far less than the time the
printer takes to come back to the idle state.
