I unfortunately don't have an answer to this question, but would be curious to see the working code if you figure it out. I have a somewhat related question. Is it possible to get access to the same paper size list for a printer that the page setup dialog uses? This list is sometimes hierarchical (for example, with HP Photosmart printers). I could possibly guess at the algorithm Apple is using to create and sort this list, but would much rather just get access to the one that's already being used. Anybody know if it's possible?
