use the QD port and do CG over QD. works well enough.
status = QDBeginCGContext(qdPort, &context);
status = SyncCGContextOriginWithPort(context, qdPort);
status = QDEndCGContext(qdPort, &context);

update:
it looks like the problem is the window is a non-compositing
window. however i don't know how to fix this, or cause the print
manager to create a compositing window instead.

hi,
i have written an application hosted pde to add additional drawing
and layout configuration options while printing. The pde loads
correctly, it contains several standard controls (checkboxes and
popup buttons) which all work correctly; however, there is one
problem. i have a custom HIView that wishes to do some custom
drawing using CG. inside the draw event handler, the call to get
the CGContextRef is failing with:
CGContextRef context;
status = GetEventParameter(event,
kEventParamCGContextRef,
typeCGContextRef,
NULL,
sizeof(context),
NULL,
&context);
-9870 eventParameterNotFoundError
can i use a custom HIView in a pde? are there any tutorials for
this?
regards,
marquis
