Re: cross debugging with project builder

At present, this is probably going to be hard to get working. The problem is not so much gdb as PB. The PB/gdb debugger is tailored for debugging a Native target. So, for instance, pushing the Run button in PB is going to send a bunch of commands to gdb that will not make a remote gdb target very happy. There are probably other places along the way where the assumption that you have a native target is made.

The PB architecture supports multiple debugger plugins (Java, gdb, AppleScript at present). So supporting embedded targets some time in the future is not out of the question. But we don't currently have any plans to do this so far as I am aware.

I don't know how far along the Eclipse folks are in getting a remote gdb to work in Eclipse, but QNX and some other embedded developers are working on Eclipse to this end. So that might be a good way to go if you want to do embedded development on X?
