"Hello world" and some beginner questions

Hi!

I am playing around with Quartz Composer since yesterday. My first fun project is a screen saver. It's a really great app and easy to understand though I'm missing some features (like an undo function...)

Now I have first questions: How can I convert a .qtz file into a regular .saver file? Is that possible? Or do I need to have a big Mac OS X proramming knowledge for that? (I do usually work with VS.NET / C#, not with XCode... shame on me, I know ;-) )
Second question: Is it possible to use the "Image Downloader" for saving downloaded images locally (on the hard disk) except caching them in the video ram? My screensaver is loading the images after reading an rss feed on my web site which describe them. Everyone can upload new images, so that I would need a big graphic card for caching them.

If you want to take a look at my screen saver, just open:
http://www.macmac.de/mcs
and dowload it (Sorry, the lyrics on the page are german). Because its a regular .qtz file you can open it with the composer. If you have tipps, how I can improve the performance or what I should change please mail back. :-)
Sometimes it needs 20-30 seconds to work fluent... the images have to get downloaded first. But you can disable some features to make it faster.

And don't forget to upload your winter image! ;-) I need feedback if that works well too.

Thanks
Sebastian

PS: If you have an ibook with a microphone at the top right, blow into it for ten seconds while the saver is running... the snow will start to blow away. ;-)
