Hello Pierre, First, may I apologize for not responding sooner? I just finished cleaning up from a crash while testing Movie.qtz . As you probably read, Tim Clark asked the list for help with a memory leak. I am attaching the code and movie that he attempted to post to the list and later forwarded to me. I am seeing the same symptoms with Movie.qtz . Using ObjectAlloc set to show bytes after Mark, I opened Quartz Composer and Movie.qtz. After allowing the composition to play for a minute or so, I clicked Mark and noted the time. I returned 71 minutes later and noted 8624 additional current bytes were allocated. After another hour, I noted about 16000 additional bytes since clicking Mark. A few hours later, ObjectAlloc crashed. I am somewhat confused. While I believe there is a memory leak, I think something else crashed ObjectAlloc. The leak appears to be 121 bytes per minute. At that rate, the leak should take several million minutes to crash the computer. It is likely that the crash was related to an almost full root hard drive (which I have just cleaned out). I do not yet understand your testing methodology using MallocStackLogging, but I am reading about it. I have the malloc man page and 'Enabling the Malloc Debugging Features' so I will ask if I have questions. When I understand your tests, I will try to repeat them. Thank you for your time.
