re: Knowing when the Shift key is down

You can list "c" and "C" as separate events in the keyboard node so in that sense you can
detect if the shift key is down.

I've tried experimenting with entering "ctrl c" or "alt e" as the keyboard press to be detected. mostly it seems
to work, it seems you can assign most "ctrl and letter" presses using the the keyboard node except "ctrl i" is read
as a tab.

"command + letter" doesnt work because for example command q is trapped by the os and quits quartz composer.

trying to assign "alt and letter" seems to be problematic. if I try and assign "alt e" to an event with the keyboard node it throws an exception and quits qc. bug?

if these could be fixed I would really like to be able to assign key press, shift keypress, ctrl key press and alt-keypress to different
things from within Quartz Composer.
