I have tested this out - I compiled a collection of example
compositions and burnt them to DVD. They look great on a 26"
widescreen - that's the biggest screen I've viewed it on. You need to
open the composition in quicktime and then export as a .mov file if
you are using iDVD - iDVD will not recognise a .qtz file. iDVD will
encode all the assets in your project when it creates the DVD, so I
assume that it is better to export the .mov file at the best quality
you can.
If you want display at a 16:9 aspect ratio, then I found that I had
to go through iMovieHD - otherwise iDVD will assume that any movie
you drag into it will be 4:3 and convert it. The only way to get iDVD
(version 5) to handle movies at 16:9 was to create a 16:9 DV iMovie
project, import the compositions as .mov and then create an iDVD
project form within iMovie. iMovie recognises .qtz files and will
convert them on the fly, but they will be treated as being 4:3 unless
you have exported them as quicktime at the desired aspect ratio.
But despite all that, it is quite an easy thing to do.

Hello all,
I was just turned on to QD from a friend and it may be just what I
am looking for.
My end use would be a looped "movie" that I could burn to DVD and
play on a 50" screen in a kiosk.
I have a brand new top of the line 17" Powerbook that I just got
and have not installed Developer Tools yet. I will when I return
home from this trip on Sunday. I have been reading through the
documentation online and am anxious to get home and get started.
Any thoughts?
Truly appreciate any feedback.
Thanks,
Keith
