Hi John,
I finally got a chance to actually try it on my machine, and I
don't see the same red discontinuity you have, but the curves are
definitely not symmetrical. What's more, when I switch from my
manually calibrated ColorSync profile to sRGB and re-start Quartz
Composer, it changes to the second included image, so it definitely
looks like it's sampling the post-color-corrected pixels and that's
the source of the weirdness, somehow.
