RSS feeds and updating a quartz composition

Hello.

I am working on a project where I am creating a RSS file on the possible order of every minute or less and I want to read the feed into a composition.

I had a look at an example posted to the mailing list back on June 16 - "RSS_test.qtz".

What I saw on my system (G4 Powerbook running Os 10.4.2 ) that was the RSS feed would only update after half an hour.  This is what Safari was set to.

The only way I could get the Quartz composition to refresh the RSS feed was to close the composition and open it again.

What I did find out what that I can set the refresh threshold in the system preference "com.apple.Syndication RefreshInterval"

http://www.macosxhints.com/article.php?story=20050429092245984

But this is not ideal to change this value because the same time value will be applied to all the RSS feeds subscribed to in Safari.

I know I can work around this for the moment; I am using something else to read RSS feeds other than Safari on my setup.  Is there another way?

Regards

Manjit Bedi
