i'm not exactly sure of the behavior you are trying to achieve, but if
random is moving too quickly for you, then you can externalize the
timebase and feed it a scaled patch time.  if you need to continuously
adjust the speed you can try out the SLSpeed patch i made on
quartzcompositions
