is there some restriction on dimensions that quartz composer
enforces when saving as a quicktime?
no
I'm trying to save out a qc patch as a 640x480, but when I save it
out, it always reports
640x600 as the quicktime size.
You mean you create the QT movie from the QC editor? It should work
just fine: specify 640x480 in the export settings and that's it.
