Here's an ill-defined but perhaps useful idea: put a core image buffer in the iterator, and attach it to the output of the image from text patch, then configure the image from text patch so it only gets data once, when the 'done' signal from the RSS feed goes high.
Unfortunately, this does not work around the main issue which is that the iterator cannot do advanced caching of what's being executed during iterations and it will still re-execute many patches affecting performances.
