Nope, does not look like it's going to work for me. I guess I'm going to have to "build" the object from blocks. Ugly, I know... but what else can I do?

There's no means to create arbitrary 3D objects in Quartz Composer. If this is something you want, please file a feature request at bugreport.apple.com.

On a more general note, let me mention to the list that the period immediately after a major shipment (like, say, Tiger ;-), is the best possible time to submit feature requests.
