I activated the screen saver as follows and the results match up:

1: Success
2: Fail
3: Success
4: Fail
5: Fail
6: Success
7: Fail
8: Success

Very interesting, thanks for the trouble shooting.

That is indeed quite interesting: how are you running the screen saver, using the "Test" button or the Hot Corners - I would recommend the later.

Now, if I read this correctly, I'm being "told" buy an Apple Graphics and Imaging Architect that I "need" to get a new laptop. ;) Kind of like getting a note from the doctor to stay at home.

good, and then while you're at it, please buy a few iPods as well and a couple of 30'' displays couldn't hurt - I need to get paid at the end of the month ;-)
