So the RemotePBuffer attribute didn't seem to help. It looks like I
have to find a way to make the hardware think there is a monitor
connected. Maybe this works:

Are you using the RemotePBuffer attribute? What do you mean "after
a while"? Any kind of error message in the output (QC will always
print in case of errors)?
