Has anyone successfully managed a scrolling news ticker in QC? I have
found many posts in mailing lists, and mentions in blog postings from
well over a year ago. None however have lead to an actual answer. This
is as close as I have come: http://www.myth2ipod.com/qc_rss_ticker.qtz
However, This forces the rss descriptions to truncate to a specific
length thus clipping off the ends. It also does one item at a time.
Meaning that one item has to scroll off the screen before the next one
come on. I am sure there may be a way to do this using a "Rendering
Destination Dimensions" patch, and a "String Length." I just can't
wrap my head around it.
With the amazing things people have done with QC, and the number of
people who have asked about this particular thing, I am surprised
there is no definitive answer. Maybe those who have done it are
keeping it secret?
