my question is not exactly related to QuartzComposer, but it is to
'developing with' qc..
while working on projects that use quartz-composer, coreimage
corevideo etc.. every now and then i experience computer-lockups. as
the music usually continues to play i asume it's the graphics-card
that just crashed (if that's how you call it..).
sometimes the screen just freezes, other times the screen(s) goes
black, and judging from the external monitor giving a 'no signal'
message, i asume the graphics card almosty litterally 'switched-off'.
one time the screen of my powerbook started to display amazing
graphics, which would usually fear the %^* out of me, but now i
actually thought of making some photo's before rebooting: http://
pulsecode.org/~arri/screenart . and in one project i occasionally
even experienced kernel-panics...
my question is: is this bad for the hardware?
could i potentionally 'toast' a graphics-card for instance?
i know this powerbook is rather old, but i have similair lockups on
our mac pro, and don't want to risk blowing its' fx4500 ...
thanks
arri
