Hi,

Is anyone aware of a method of automatically extracting a
jpeg from the first frame of a quicktime movie?

open the movie, select the time period for the first frame only, export the movie video track as a jpeg.

you should be able to achieve that with C, Java or AppleScript.

cheers,

dean
