Fast start with download progress in slider bar

Greetings,

When I download a movie trailer in a web browser, a very helpful download
progress indicator appears in the midst of the progress slider bar. This
visually indicates why the playback has stopped if the transfer was too slow,
and indicates when enough data has been received to press play again.

How do you get that download progress indicator to appear?

We have an application that moves flattened movie files from one computer to
another. The receiving computer wraps the data in a dataref that it uses to
begin a fast-start play of the movie before the whole movie has arrived.
This all works. We would like the progress indicator to appear to show how
much data has been received while the movie is being played back.

Anyone know how to turn that feature on?
