I'm writing a windowless app (for Windows XP) that can play songs. This works fine for files. I use the basic routines to open (OpenMovieFile and NewMovieFromFile) and play them (using MCDoAction with parameter mcActionPrerollAndPlay). I call MoviesTask on a regular basis to keep the movie playing. The problem is that if I try to play a streaming radio station (by calling NewMovieFromDataRef with parameter URLDataHandlerSubType) it never gets past the Connecting state and to the Buffering state. Is there some other function I need to call to keep things moving along when trying to play from a stream (without a window) ?
