Re: Xcode QT component?

Components do not show up as folders if, in the component bundle, in the Contents directory, you place a text file named "PkgInfo", containing 8 chars.

"thng" followed by your four char code. i.e. "thngFooH"

They will indeed currently show up as folders, this should change (one hopes) in the future. I've submitted bugs about this long ago. My (cheap) solution for the time being...just use a custom folder icon with your shipping component bundle. Once you have your shipping bundle built, paste on a folder icon and you're done (I said it was cheap). I also assume the icon you specify in the plist doesn't work because of a bug but I've never gotten around to file that one. Someone probably has, or should...maybe even you :)

Is the library component officially depreciated then, since it won't
work without a resource fork? Will support for those components go away
eventually?

Well, there is that Q&A written by our tools guy, so in political speak I'd say "it's not recommended".

Will support go away one day?
I have no idea, let's see what the Magic 8-Ball has to say:
