I'm using Video Output Components and running into "interference"
between an external FireWire audio interface (Metric Halo Mobile I/O
2882) and the VOC, but only when the VOC is configured for PAL output
(my NTSC camera works fine).
Basically, when enabling output using the PAL output, as soon as I've
called QTVideoOutputBegin(), the interface stops functioning and
needs to be disconnected and reconnected. From the lights on the
front of the interface, it appears that the sample rate of the
interface is getting scrambled, although there might be other stuff
happening, too.
I see this behavior, whether I am playing a movie directly to the VOC
(and setting the SOC to the (only) sound output associated with the
device (FireWire DV)), or if I am simply decompressing, manually,
video data into the VOC's GWorld. Again, this only happens when using
a PAL device.
Additionally, I am getting crashes when calling
MediaSetSoundOutputComponent(), with the component returned by
QTVideoOutputGetIndSoundOutput(). Again, only with PAL hardware. I
have crashlogs if anyone is interested.
My configuration:
G5 2.3 Dual
DV PAL Firewire Camera (VOC device)
Metric Halo interface
Has anyone observed similar problems? Any suggested workarounds?
