I am developing an application to monitor images which have been
generated in a custom format from a live data source (in our case
EPICS). This is not a DV stream from a Firewire or a video capture
card. I have looked at the QuickTime Broadcaster API and it seems
that I need to create a custom Sourcer component, but the relevant
API is undocumented and I haven't found any examples that would shed
light on that particular API. The sample codes seem to assume video
is coming in via the sequence grabber which is not relevant to my
project.
I know how to capture data from the data source and I can generate an
image an convert it to a QuickTime movie if necessary. I just don't
know how to get the broadcaster API to broadcast a live stream from
the custom data source.
