Hope I'm not missing the obvious...
I've searched, with every keyword I can think of, for info on
this in both lists.apple.com and
developer.apple.com/documentation/. I have only been able to
learn that its symbolic name is kDVCNTSCCodecType, but I have
not found any description of the atom content.
In the example .mov file I've decoded, that atom is 174 bytes in
size. In theory it should (like other atoms in an 'stsd'
container) contain whatever the codec needs to know in order to
decode the corresponding 'mdat' data. I'm at a loss though to
imagine that a dv codec needs quite that big a description...
Does anyone know, or know where I should look?
I've tried the QuickTime File Format doc (QTFF.pdf), but the
latest copy I've found is dated 2001-03-01 and does not include
this atom. Is there a newer version of this doc available, say
in the "August 2005 ADC Reference Library Update" or "August
Developer Documentation in PDF" downloads? Or is there one
available under a license agreement or NDA?
