Just to complete this discussion there are a few documents worth going over. How can I verify that a movie can actually draw into a non-RGB GWorld? http://developer.apple.com/qa/qa2001/qa1243.html How can I find out what non-RGB pixel formats a codec supports? http://developer.apple.com/qa/qa2001/qa1249.html Rendering in Y'CbCr http://developer.apple.com/quicktime/icefloe/dispatch027.html While I don't think we've ever specifically mentioned order of preference in a 'cpix' resource, I believe it's ok to say non-RGB pixel formats should be listed in order of preference. regards, edward Edward Agabeg WWDR Engineer QuickTime and Audio Worldwide Developer Relations Apple http://www.apple.com/developer http://www.apple.com/quicktime -- This message was sent from a personal account -- -- All views are mine and not necessarily shared by my employer -- |
