I need to prevent the user from dragging or pausing a movie playing
in a QTKit/QTMovieView. I've already got a subclass of QTMovieView
for other reasons, so I assumed it should be as easy as adding my own
methods for mouseDown, mouseDragged, and keyDown. None of my methods
are being called though.
This is a known issue that we hope to address sooner rather than
later. Sorry you are getting bit by it.
I noticed that there is a _draggable attribute in the QTMovie, as a
test I tried calling setDraggable:NO on the loaded movie, and now my
mouseDragged selector does get called, but the mouseDown and keyDown
selectors are still not called.
This is a dangerous strategy. The setDraggable method is not public
and you probably should not rely on it. I will try to devise safer
ways to do what you want (prevent the user from dragging or pausing
the movie) and contact you off-list in a day or so.
