Also, if someone at Apple thinks this is worth a bug report, I've created a small application that recreates the problem that they can examine. Hi Mark, Just some quick comments off the top of my head...I'd say there's a deadlock in the VC which is pretty easy to do I've found. When frames are no longer being drawn, drop into gdb and get a backtrace to see what's going on. I don't think calling QTVisualContextTask right after a MoviesTask all on a timer is a good thing to do, I've alwasy seen it used as the last thing called after you've been told to render and while you still own the locks for the GL context independent of Movie idling...at least this is what I've found works really well and all our sample code specifically shows this technique. The fact that it works for DV but not for JPEG seems odd enough that I'd file a bug (please provide a project some media). Can't hurt. Send me the bug # offlist so I can keep track of it. thanks, edward Edward Agabeg WWDR Engineer QuickTime and Audio Worldwide Developer Relations Apple http://www.apple.com/developer http://www.apple.com/quicktime -- This message was sent from a personal account -- -- All views are mine and not necessarily shared by my employer -- |
