Hello all,

I am a beginner to QT. I have been trying to use the QT APIs to encode audio/video but in the output file I observe that audio and video are out of sync and the gap increases towards the end of the video. The strange thing is that this happens only at lower bit-rates ( less than equal to 256 KBps ) while at 512Kbps and 1Mbps the audio/video seem to be in sync.

This happens when I use "Sorenson Video 3 Compressor" and "QDesign Music 2" as the video and audio codes respectively.

Example :-
In case of target bitrate 28.8 Kbps, the framewidth and height are 160 x 120 and frame rate is 6 fps and the audio frequency is 8 KHz.
The source is a QT file 720 x 480.

The anove combination gives out a QT file which has audio/video out of sync.

Could anyone point me to what could be going wrong ?
