It is much less work than you think . And, it happens lighting fast....at least the track injection does. If it ends up working, clients will no longer have to add anything to their movie files....instant server side DRM injection for every movie request

I tried using the zLib library to decompress the string data in the file, but I kept getting data errors.. I used gzuncompress and gzdeflate from the zlib library to no avail: http://us2.php.net/zlib

For a zlib test, I tried decompressing this string, a compressed movie header. The header was compressed in Livestage
