QuickTime 7 Windows. Not COM Control.

Alright starting out using the QuickTime SDK for windows. The only problem trying to use it, I am really confused on where to start. The latest QuickTime for windows documentation is for QuickTime 3. It says QuickTime 3 or later, but there's so many improvements I'm just look for the best way to start out. qtShellCEvents a great resource but hasn't been updated since 2003. And that's the most complete example I've seen to date. And certain examples don't even compile anymore on the new 7.03 SDK. Even the way you're supposed to open a movie file has changed. And the new way really confuses me. I've yet to even get a movie and controller to display properly on the screen and I still don't know what I'm doing wrong. Any one have any help or pointers?
