getting down to brass tacks, what I really need is Linux support
If you have not checked out the way MING [open-source server side
Flash] works, you should :)
It's API fits quite nicely as a component with PHP.
It is a little rough around the edges, but very powerful...kind of
like QuickTime.
Anyway, given current progress I'll have a Linux QT track injector
up in several weeks.
Then, given client approval, on to an MCRPYT data handler component
for QT.
happy halloween

You know, if this 'server-side add-scaling' works, you could build
a server agnostic compiler for Quicktime.
That would be an extremely powerfully upgrade for QT in the modern
era of 2005.
Not only do you get compatibility for the widely adopted OS X
server, but you also get Windows and Linux compatibility ;)
In theory, QT could be a PHP component similar to MING [open
source server side Flash creator]
Maybe, just maybe, Livestage Pro could develop a sever side
compiler that spits out QT code in real time from within a PHP
script.
Possibly, this is too obscure and/or advanced for the general
Quicktime developer community to utilize ?
I hope not :)
Livestage can already run on a server and uses xml to configure how
it creates a movie.
It only runs on Mac and Windows though.
