Bug in QT Export?

The FPS settings in the options in the export settings dialog don’t seem to work properly.

I’ve noticed (Both on the PC and Mac) that if I load a 30fps QT Movie and export it as a 29.97fps QT Movie that the fps on the new movie still shows up as 30fps.  I’m checking this with Show Movie Info in QT Pro 7.0.4.

This only seems to happen if I’m converting from QT movie to QT Movie.

If I export it as an AVI, the AVI file shows up with the correct fps (29.97).

At first  I thought I was doing something wrong in the .NET app I’m writing, but then I tried it right out of QT Pro and got the same results…

Right now, if I want to change a 24fps QT movie to a say a 29.97 QT movie I have to export out an image sequence then reload the image sequence at the frame rate I want into a new movie.  Not very elegant.

I’ve tried using different QT Movie codecs, but even though the codec changes, the fps always seems to come out the same as the original QT movies.

Can anyone else confirm this?

If this isn’t a bug, then can someone shed some light on why it only works this way when going from QT movie to QT movie and not when going to AVI?
