Re: Quartz and QuickTime

http://developer.apple.com/documentation/Carbon/Reference/ QuickDraw_Ref/Reference/reference.html#//apple_ref/c/func/ QDBeginCGContext

The functions QDBeginCGContext and QDEndCGContext will wrap a CGContext around a GWorld. Note that there are certain caveats with doing this (such as the fact that alpha blending is disabled). You could also create a Create a CGBitmapContext using CGBitmapContextCreate and passing in the PixMapPtr and appropriate image information to get a wrapper around the GWorld.

Is there any way within a media handler to render the media using Quartz?
Some way to get a context maybe for the movie or the track, or make my own offscreen Quartz context, then blit it into the GWorld QuickTime provides for my media handler?
