Thanks a lot (really!). That solved the issue I had. I'll submit a documentation enhancement asking that the description of writeToFile:withAttributes: mentions this issue/feature.


At the moment the conversion code is in a separate tool, but ideally I would execute it on a separate thread in my application. However, there seems to be a problem with creating QTMovie objects on threads other than the main thread. From what I've read in the Quicktime documentation, exporting operations should be (mostly?) thread safe. Is there a way to use QTMovie on separate threads?
